Broadcast
A single WhatsApp template message sent to a defined segment of contacts at once. Each recipient receives it as an individual conversation, not a group chat.
One term from the WhatsApp Business Platform glossary. Last updated 2026-07-25.
Recipients of a broadcast cannot see each other and reply into their own one-to-one thread, which is what makes broadcast a usable support and sales channel rather than a mailing list. Every send requires an approved template.
Because per-message pricing scales linearly with segment size, the discipline that matters most is segmentation. A cost preview before launch turns an abstract list size into a real number before the send, not after.
