Embedded Signup

Meta's official onboarding flow that connects your WhatsApp Business Account and phone number to a platform without leaving that platform. It replaces manual API key exchange and takes a few minutes.

One term from the WhatsApp Business Platform glossary. Last updated 2026-07-25.

Embedded Signup is the flow Meta wants providers to use. It opens a Meta-hosted window inside the provider's product, where a business signs into its own Facebook account, picks or creates a WhatsApp Business Account, verifies a phone number and grants the provider access — then hands control back.

The alternative, still used by some smaller vendors, is a manual exchange of API credentials over email or a support ticket. That route is slower, harder to audit, and often ends with the provider — not the business — named as the owner of the WhatsApp Business Account. Checking that a provider uses Embedded Signup is the fastest way to confirm a business will end up owning its own asset.
