Number migration

Moving a WhatsApp business number from one platform to another. Because the WABA stays in your Meta Business Manager, migration re-points the number rather than replacing it.

One term from the WhatsApp Business Platform glossary. Last updated 2026-07-25.

Because the WhatsApp Business Account, the number and the approved templates all sit in the business's own Meta Business Manager, changing platform is a matter of granting the new provider access and re-pointing the number. The template library and quality history carry across.

What you need on hand is the two-step verification PIN and administrator access to the Business Manager. Any vendor suggesting a migration means losing your number or starting template approval from scratch is describing their own restriction, not a Meta rule.
