Two-step verification PIN
A six-digit PIN set on a WhatsApp business number to protect it from being registered elsewhere. It is required to register the number and to move it between platforms.

The PIN is set during number registration and acts as the second factor on the number itself. Without it, someone who gains access to the phone number could register it against a different WhatsApp Business Account.
Losing the PIN is a genuine operational problem: migrating the number to another provider requires it, and resetting it involves a Meta support process and a waiting period. It belongs in a password manager, not in one person's memory.
