SSO
Single sign-on — letting staff log into a platform with the company identity provider they already use, rather than a separate username and password.

SAML and OIDC are the two standards that matter. With either, the identity provider authenticates the user and asserts who they are to the platform, so password policy and multi-factor enforcement live in one place.
The operational value is offboarding. Revoking someone in the identity provider removes their access everywhere at once, rather than depending on an administrator remembering each tool they were given.

- An append-only record of who did what inside a platform and when. It cannot be edited after the fact, which is what makes it usable as evidence.
