Build WhatsApp chatbots without code — a drag-and-drop flow builder
Drag-and-drop WhatsApp chatbots with menus, questions, branches and handoff to an AI agent or a person.
BotPulsar's chatbot builder lets you build a WhatsApp chatbot on the official API without writing code. You drag steps from a palette onto a board — send a message, show reply buttons or a list menu, ask a question and save the answer, branch on what the customer said, wait, or hand the chat to an AI agent or a person — then connect them and publish. It is included in every plan from Growth at ₹999/month, with no per-bot add-on fee.

Drag-and-drop chatbot board

Reply buttons and list menus
Offer up to three reply buttons or a list of up to ten options, and send each choice down its own path.
Questions that save to the CRM
Ask for a name, email, phone, number or date, validate the reply and save it to a contact field.
Branches, waits and timeouts
Branch on tags, fields, keywords or business hours, wait before the next step, and handle customers who don't reply.
Media messages in a flow
Send images, video, documents and audio from any step, with captions where Meta allows them.
Handoff to an AI agent or a person
Assign to a team or queue, offer a human, or pass the chat to an AI agent on Pro that stays quiet once a person takes over.
What is a WhatsApp chatbot?
A WhatsApp chatbot is an automated conversation that runs on your business number. When a customer messages you, the bot replies instantly, offers choices as tappable buttons or a list, asks for details such as a name, city or order number, and either answers the question or passes the chat to the right person with everything already collected.
On the official WhatsApp Business API a chatbot can run around the clock without a phone being switched on, serve any number of customers at once, and sit in front of a shared team inbox. That is different from the greeting and away messages in the WhatsApp Business app, which can only send a fixed reply.
How to build a WhatsApp chatbot in 5 steps
Connect your number through Meta Embedded Signup first; the chatbot builder is under Automations. A new chatbot starts with a Flow Start card that already listens for “hi”, “hello” and “help”.
- Choose what starts the bot: keywords on the Flow Start card, the first message from a new contact, a click-to-WhatsApp ad, a reply to a campaign, a WhatsApp Flow form, an order or payment update, or a schedule.
- Add steps from the palette: a text or media message, reply buttons (up to three) or a list menu (up to ten options), or a question whose answer is saved to a contact field.
- Connect the steps: drag from one card's dot to the next. Each menu option and each “no reply” timeout can go down its own path, and conditions branch on tags, contact fields, keywords or business hours.
- Decide where the bot stops: assign the chat to a team or queue, hand it to an AI agent on Pro, tag the contact, or end the flow.
- Test, then publish: run the draft on your own test number, then publish. Every publish creates a new version, and a draft never reaches real customers.
Types of WhatsApp chatbots you can build
Ready-made chatbot templates in English and Hindi cover the most common jobs: a support menu, welcoming a new contact, qualifying a lead, order status, appointment requests, admission enquiries, payment reminder replies, feedback, browsing by category, site-visit requests, asking for a human and re-opening a quiet chat. Install one as a draft, change the wording, and publish.
Lead qualification bots ask budget, city and requirement, save each answer to the CRM and assign hot leads to sales. Support triage bots show a menu of topics and route each one to the right queue. Schools and coaching institutes use admission and fee-reminder bots; clinics and salons use appointment bots; online stores use order-status and COD confirmation flows.
Chatbot, AI agent or human: who answers?
A rule-based chatbot is predictable: it asks the questions you wrote and follows the paths you drew, which is what you want for collecting details, confirming orders and routing chats. An AI agent answers open questions from your website and documents. On Pro, a chatbot can hand the conversation to an AI agent at any step, and either can pass it to a person.
When a person takes over a chat, the AI agent stays quiet rather than talking over them, and the inbox shows whether each chat was answered by an automation, the AI agent or a person.
What the chatbot builder costs
The visual chatbot builder is included on Growth (₹999/month), Pro (₹1,999/month) and Business (₹3,999/month), with no per-bot or per-flow add-on and unlimited team members. Starter (₹300/month) includes keyword, welcome and away auto-replies but not the builder. Handing a chat to an AI agent needs Pro.
Meta charges for the messages themselves. Bot replies inside the 24-hour customer service window count as service messages: the first 1,000 per number each month are free and the rest are charged at Meta's rate. A bot that starts a conversation with a template pays the template rate, such as ₹0.115 for a utility message.
No-code chatbot builder: common questions
Do I need coding to build a WhatsApp chatbot on BotPulsar?
No. You drag steps onto a board, type the messages and connect the cards. Developers can also emit webhooks from a flow, but a complete chatbot needs no code.
Which BotPulsar plan includes the chatbot builder?
Growth (₹999/month) and above. Starter includes keyword, welcome and away auto-replies, and Pro adds handoff to AI agents. There is no separate chatbot add-on fee.
Can the chatbot hand over to a human agent?
Yes. A step can assign the chat to a team, queue or person, or offer the customer a “talk to a human” option. The agent sees the answers the bot already collected.
Can my WhatsApp chatbot reply in Hindi?
Yes. You write each message in whatever language you choose, and every ready-made chatbot template ships in both English and Hindi.
What happens if the customer doesn't reply to the chatbot?
Question and menu steps wait for the reply. You can set a timeout and send “no reply” down its own path — for example a reminder, or assigning the chat to a person.
Can I test a chatbot before customers see it?
Yes. Run the draft against your own test number end to end before you publish. Drafts never reach real customers, and each publish is a new version.
Can the chatbot save answers to my CRM?
Yes. A question step saves the reply to a contact field and can check that it is a valid email, phone number, number, URL or date. Later steps can branch on that field.
Does a WhatsApp chatbot cost extra per message?
BotPulsar does not charge per bot message. Meta charges per message: bot replies in the 24-hour service window are free for the first 1,000 per number each month, then charged; templates the bot sends to start a conversation are charged at Meta's rate.
